Rustic Dwells is held as a collective, evolving experience of living and working with land.
While many people pass through and contribute to its ongoing life, the work is initiated and anchored by Aishwarya, an architect working at the intersection of land, building, and everyday living.
Her approach is shaped through a combination of professional practice and lived experience — spanning ecological and community-led environments such as Auroville, participation in architecture and craft-based workshops with the Laurie Baker Centre and INTACH (Kashmir chapter), and design contributions to land-based initiatives including Project Vita in Mozambique. This extends to master planning work for forest-based developments such as Woodnote Eco Resort and Tor Linga Linga, alongside ongoing engagement with natural materials, wood-based construction, and lived farming and permaculture practices.
Growing up in a home informed by sustained engagement with Yoga and Vipassana for over 25 years, and with a close association to agriculture and forestry through her family, this work is grounded in a way of living that values observation, restraint, and continuity.
Rustic Dwells continues to evolve through those who spend time here — where each person, skill, and experience contributes to what the place becomes over time.
